If it's the hose that's leaking, why not replace just that? On my '92, both cooler hoses are starting to weep fluid. It looks like the hose is a wrapped spiral of rubber, and there is leakage at the seam.
The hoses are available from the dealer - I know because I've replaced those hoses on an older 9000 (88). Right now I'm looking for an inexpensive source of the tranny hoses. You could pull them off and have a speed shop fabricate new hoses, but the car will be down for a time. I'm sure some of the mail order Saab dealers should be able to source the hoses in the $200 range for the pair. Replacement of the hoses takes about 90 minutes or so.
