I am pretty sure there is something wrong inside the radio. Apparently, you can send it in to Clarion and have it overhauled. Others here might have that information.

Personally, I would buy an aftermarket unit with a cd player. The cost is only a couple of hundred dollars and the sound will be better. If you go with Crutchfield, they will make installation easy if you want to do it yourself. The only tricky part will be hooking up the rear speakers since you will have to splice into the wires coming out of the amp under the front passenger seat.

If you get really desperate, I have the original radio from my wife's 93 9000 cs in a box in my garage. Emai me if you run out of options.
