Violent wheel vibrations at high speed...

with my summer tires reinstalled (two weeks ago). The summer tires are Michelin XGT V4's, with +/-10K miles on them. The winter tires are older and smaller Gislavds(sp??)on their own rims, but handled high speed much better then the summer tires?
This past weekend while easily beating a Grand Prix (wide trac) at +125 MPH the car starting shaking VIOLENTLY. On a similar ride (or race, same road) with the snow tires +/-2 months ago I was amazed at how well the car handled (smooth) at the same rate of speed (+125 MPH). Please no comments about the stupidty, etc. at traveling at these speeds, just please offer some feedback as to why the snow tires seem to handled much better then the wider summer tires. Perhaps the Michilens are not properly inflated or balanced? Both of which were to be checked at the reinstallation two weeks ago. Additionally, and hopefully unrelated, two days prior to this violent high speed shacking I had the 95K service completed.
Any thoughts about the violent shaking would be appreciated, not about my driving.
Cheers.
