Hi Guys, some of you may have been following my recent ramblings regarding (there's alliteration for you) an audio upgrade in my 94 Aero. To Percy I can only say, that guy who dissed your Saab in favour of his Ricemobile is an idiot. The irony is that in fact, Acura's are famous for difficult audio upgrades as they mix the wiring with the air bag wiring and other nasties mandating it be done by a pro shop. If it's any condolence, my new Clarion Pro preamp/cd head unit, Phoenix Gold Amp, and Focal 3-way sounds pretty good, considering what we're essentially trying to do here is get good sound in the equivalent of a bathtub. Taking a look at the removed stock Clarion units (tape & cd) I was amazed at the complexity of all its wiring, but once you're past that with a new DIN sized head unit then all you need is to run power and RCA cables. Straight forward, but I'd still get a pro to do it. BTW, Aaron, the system now has absolutely no alternator whine (have you tried Phoenix gold twisted pair cables? They may do the trick for you).
Enjoy the music,
Bill
