I finally fixed something in my car, by myself, at NO cost, with just a flat screwdriver, and without even breaking anything. My passenger side rear window went up about a year ago, and never went back down. The same thing happened to my sunroof. I was told that they needed new regulators at over $300 a piece, not including labor! But, yesterday, when I looked in the Haynes manual under troubleshooting, it said that when a window only goes one way, it's the switch. So, just using a screwdriver, I took out the center console, and removed the respective switches to see if they could be fixed. I figured the window and sunroof were already broken, so I couldn't make anything worse. I took the switches apart, scraped the crud off of the contacts with the screwdriver, and put them back together. It took about 15 minutes. They work fine now. My mechanic made it seem like I needed new expensive regulators for this. The 20 dollar Haynes manual already saved me many hundreds.
