The first time I took mine off (five years ago), I _think_ I pulled it off with lots of effort, like Paul. However, I remember somebody telling me back then (think this may also be in the manual) that often you have to crush it to get it off - making sure no pieces get inside the distributor or anywhere else!
Since I've done them all myself though, I put a few drops of red loctite on the shaft, then press the new rotor on. It's a very tight fit. After a couple years though, I'm still able to pull it off, with considerably less effort than that very first one I took off..
