My friend just purchased a 97 9000. I've noticed that his temp gauge is almost locked at 1/3, even in some sit around traffic, where mine tends to run up to 2/3rds, and kicks in the low speed fans(frequently in city driving)
Is this because the temp gauge on later cars is fed by the computer, and the computer doesn't actually show the "real" tempature, where is my gauge is fed by an actual sensor on the block? Do i need to replace my coolant/thermostat? or are my readings on my 94 normal. Car temp shows a little under 1/2 at highway speeds unless a/c on and really hot outside, then runs at 1/2. typically runs up the gauge when I get off the highway.
