connectors need to come apart. I've done the same for a '92 9000S so should be same as yours. There are two gray plugs sitting by the battery and you can pull off their support. The hard part is get the connectors apart, I don't know of any easy way, I would suggest prying with a couple of small screw drivers and just do it slowly, they will come apart. Yes, they are tight. You can wiggle, pry, curse, but just don't break them.
**You need a new wire harness for the "new" DI cassette**.
Whoever sold you the DI should have told you to get the wire/cable harness. Unless you got an old unit from a junk yard then you can just disconnect the connnectors and reconnect.
If you have a new unit (there should be a connector right by the end of the DI) then you need a *NEW* wire harness and you can get it from your dealer about $30-40 or from any Saabnet sponsor (probably not much cheaper).
