I decided to replace the shocks and springs on my 89 CDT yesterday. I had just finishing replacing the entire front end on a 87 Mitsu Starion ESi-R and was feeling quite competent. The amount of decay in the rear end of the Saab frightened me at first. I was able to get the nuts off both side of the shocks and push out one bolt although it was seized to the sway bar bushing. Heat and pre-lubing did nothing for the other side.
Anyways I need help in locating the part numbers for the bolts and sway bar bushings. I managed to break off one bolt on the sway bar mounts also.
Anyone know of a low mileage 9000 I could steal the sway bar body mounts and locating bars for the rear suspension? Mine are in dire need of resurrection.
Lastly any tricks to removing the rear springs? Currently I have one Bilstein on one side for 4 hours labor. I have Spax springs to install when I build up enough fortitude again. TIA
