It's not that bad a job - the Haynes manual (you can get that from Haynes' website - http://www.haynes.co.uk (?)) has a pretty good write up, although most of it is fairly intuitive.
From memory - after disconnecting the battery you need to undo the bolt that holds the positive cable to the stay that goes between the starter motor and the top of the engine. You should then loosen the bolt that holds the stay in place at the top (no need to take it right out). disconnect the wires from the starter (from underneath) and then undo the two bolts that hold the starter in place (the top one is a little awkward to access - and there is not much room to move a socket, so you'll have aching wrists by the end). The starter should then just drop out the bottom, with a bit of wiggling around. Refitting, in the immortal words of the Haynes manual, is the reverse of removal.
Good luck!
