As Sjer says, check Townsend. You can't use just any wheel bearing grease for the CV joint - the bearing types and loads are all different. Saab doesn't sell the grease - they just have a big vat of it in the back. If you talk really nice to the service manager and bring along a container, they might give you some (it's worked for me). Otherwise, there are quality CV joint greases on the market. Make sure it's designed for CV joints.
I see a few problems with using a hose clamp. First, it's a rotating part, and the clamp can loosen up - and that could be disaster. Second, it's a rotating part, and hose clamps aren't the most balanced items - lots of mass near the screw end. Lastly, you'd need a very large diameter, but very narrow clamp. Too wide, and it won't pick up the groove properly and hold. There isn't a lot of clearance between the boot and the bearing bracket, and if anything hits, well (see disaster, above).
The CV joint boot clamp from Saab is cheap, and it works just fine. I never bought a crimping tool - I just use a cheap set of cutters where I've dulled the blades. They look like pliers, but the ends curve around and become clippers. Cost me about $2 at a discount store.
I would get the clip from Saab - a problem with the clamp can quickly destroy the CV joint.
