B&D is really called Greenleaf, now. They were bought last year by
Ford. Their 'sister' yard, ABC, which also was bought by FoMoCo, used
to stock Saabs, but that was transfered to B&D. B&D must have the largest
stockpile of salvaged Volvos in the world. One can literally walk for
acres and see 4 or 500 of them. Saabs aren't quite as prolific, yet!
Anyway, ABC used to have much better prices, and I knew a couple of
friends that work there. I used to get great deals on salvage title
Saabs and parts. In fact, it's where I bought the drivetrain that's in
my '92. Listen to this: A '98 CSE engine/transaxle (5 sp), with ALL
the ancillaries (compressor, starter, wiring harness,ECU,and more) with
only 10k miles cost me $2600. Needless to say, I was very disappointed
when I found out that FoMoCo bought ABC and they made the decision to
move the Saab business over to B&D. Anyway, the prices at B&D are a bit
higher than what they used to be and the guys there, as you found, don't
have a lot of experience with Saabs. The only thing they wont sell
are brake parts, and fuel pumps. If you ever need any other parts let
me know as the yard is only 3 miles from my house.
experience with those parts
