Tell me your brakes don't get hot. The question is - how hot and for how long do they stay at that temp? Does anybody have a guess? I'm perfectly willing to listen to advice. I know that rubber parts are damaged by excessive heat, but you can't say that they are damaged by any temperature above room temperature. That's just not reasonable. I realize this is kind of uncharted ground, so everything is in the realm of opinion.

My Valvoline synthetic brake fluid has a dry boiling point (BP) of 503 degrees F, and a wet BP of about 340. I've heard of brake fluid reaching its BP under hard driving conditions, but I've never experienced that. I would imagine it produces vapor lock in the braking system and is therefore bad. It does prove that brake components get hot, however. So here's a question - would heating the caliper when dry (no brake fluid within) to, say, 225 degrees, be any different than its reaching that temp when installed in the car, and the rubber seals are bathed in the hot brake fluid? To be on the safe side, should probably just let the calipers (except for that bracket part) dry in the sun and keep out of the oven. Nonetheless, I'm curious. Thank you for your input.
