First of all, is your 9K has an AUTO or 5sp tranny? If the car doesn't have any dings or rust, and with minimum maintainance you should be able to keep the car running for another 100K. By the way, the heater core is near the area of your motor, but has nothing to do with the timing chain. It's wise to have your mechanic inspect the chain & tensioner. Best of luck!
