I like separates, but you do want your best speakers in the front, the rears are just for fill. That is, unless you have no subwoofer (shame!), then you I guess would be expecting some bass out of the rear speakers. :) If you go coaxial, just note that you won't need what most companies call a 6.5" car speaker - those are too small. You need what's called either a 6 1/2S (Crutchfield) or 6 3/4, or, in the home speaker world of real woofers and tweeters, just called a 6.5". :) Some speakers with a frame of 7" will fit too, though.
Brands that come to mind include Blaupunkt, Boston Acoustics, Infinity, Polk, Pioneer, and Diamond Audio, to name but a scant few out of many dozens. Like their receivers, I think for the money the Blaupunkts are great. Ditto for Boston.
