Thanks for the clairfication on the independance of AC and cooling. Shorting the thermoswitch will cause the radiator fan to operate at both high and low speeds. I've tested the thermoswitch continuity my emersing it in hot water which allows for the free flow of electricty. Yesterday the vehicle overheated and boiled over, which indicated to me the thermostat is functioning. I am wondering about a little brass "C" shaped object wired to the radiator fan which may be a resistor. It becomes very hot when grounding the thermoswitch
