Unless you are SERIOUSLY cranking up the boost on your car, say over 20 psi (stock is only 11 psi), you don't want a atmospheric dump valve, otherwise know as a blow-off valve. While the automatic does have some of the advantage you claim, that of keeping the boost up bewteen shifts, there won't be any advantage to the dump valve whatsoever. Frankly, I don't even think there will be much of a sound to it, because with an automatic, the boost doesn't really drop sharply between shifts as it does with a manual. If you're all stock, I'd simply get the Bosch unit rated at 20 psi and be done with it, $$50 or less from a number of places, part # ends in 110.
And like Dave said, if you must go to a better valve, get the Forge recirculating bypass valve.
