When I bought my 97 Aero in March, there were a lot of rattle and squeaks from the hatch door. I had to remove the carpet from the lip of the boot above the rear bumper area and access the boot catch. I found that by loosening the bolts on the catch and pushing it downwards (a lot of trial and error involved here the get the correct positioning), eventually meant that when I closed the hatch door, the boot catch grabbed the door catch more tightly. It's OK now. Hope this helps.
