Just got done fixing the cruise on my 92 9000. changed the vacuum module, re-adjusted the pedal switches, checked vacuum hoses, then finally took the ecu out and examined the board. Many comments about the poor solder joints on the ecu boards had been posted. Mine how ever was a burned out resistor on the board. I shopped around for about a week on the web and on the phone with junkyards. If you need an ecu, it pays to shop. Prices I got ranged from $200-$440, for new or used ecus... I finally found one at a junkyard for $40, and it works fine (so far). The part number for the ECU for 92-94 is 41-08-650.
If your 93 is like my 92, all you have to do to reset the pedal switches is to remove the under dash cover above the pedals. Mine was held in place by 4 cheap plastic fasteners. Press the clutch pedal down with one hand and reach up to the switch and extend the switch plundger towards the pedal arm, as mentioned above it will click several times when you pull it out. Then do the same for the brake. Both switches are self adjusting, when you let the pedal back up they will adjust themselves. It may pay to remove the switches and clean them with electrical parts cleaner.
If you want to take a look at the "Speed Control ECU", it is mounted up under the same part of the dash, on the front side of a white plastic component holder. It's a silver box. You may have to remove the little plastic air duct to get the ecu out (one torx screw). The ecu was just held in place by a plastic tab on the component holder. You can examine the board inside the box for bad solder joints or burned out components. I've had many suggestions that the boards need re-soldering.
