started taking apart the engine...

Well, after a couple of weeks of gearing up for it, I finally went in to do the headgasket. I had noticed a blackish residue in the coolant expansion tank and after an inspection realized it was oil. Figured the headgasket had gone ('92 9000T with 100k on it) and needed replaced. Started taking the engine apart today, but first did a compression test. The first readings were all around 150 except for cylinder 3 which was lower. Then I thought why not take it a step further and added a little oil to each cylinder and repeated the test. Surprisingly the numbers all jumped up. The lowest reading was 175 (cyl 1 & 3) while cylinder 2 was at 187 and cylinder 4 at 200! Now I'm worried I've got more wrong than just a bad headgasket. To make matters worse, I have no idea what the correct compression spec is for this car. The Haynes states that these numbers are not published. Is this true? If anyone can help with the correct spec for compression or offer suggestions on what to look for as I get ready to actually take the head out to get cleaned up I would greatly appreciate it!
PS: Broke one stud taking the exhaust manifold off, but otherwise have managed not too do major bodily harm to myself or the car! Just hoping my luck holds...
