As for the survival kit, a while back there was an excellent thread where
those who had breakdowns that stranded them told why. It seems that the parts and tools for those few predictable stranding situations didn't take up much room and the
parts were not expensive. Some of these parts are going to go in the car
sometime, so why not buy them now and store them in the trunk or on the shelf at home?
For country living, a parts car is the ultimate Saab survival kit.
