front (clutch end ) seal is gone. With the cost of R-12 running $60+ a pound it is time for an R-134A connversion and a compressor reseal. While you have some gas left in the system have someone make a Halon leak test and determine then take it up the road to Jim Smart (505-471-8541) in Santa Fe and have the conversion made. I don't know what he will charge with the reseal but that is dirt simple job, he is competent and has made many of these recently. The compressor should be removed to get a good drain of the old oil and so you won't have to pay for that part, twice. I don't know what year car you have but if over 6-7 years old, I would also recomment replacing the dryer assy too ( about $58-62 or $75 installed) have him look at the connection O-rings too another 10-30 bucks.
