I recently trashed the tubes on my 91 9kt and my 86 900s. I have yet to replace the 9kt's (the 900 is in saab heaven), but it must be insanely easy to do... With one caveat!
It would appear from the tubes themselves that Saab's attaching point on the block is a flanged fitting, like you might see for coolant pipes: a series of concentric rings that make it easier to slide on than off.
The new dipstick tube will need some lubrication to slip on AND perhaps some heat. You'll want to avoid--at all costs--installing a used one at cold temps. That's what I did and it broke immediately.
Otherwise, one screw and it's loose. (Make sure you didn't leave a broken
piece on that fitting below. That'd hurt your progress a lot!)
