I really noticed the extra spool up whistle, can't say I'm displeased! It's about as loud as it was when my stock downpipe developed a rather large hole in it, and just as you described, quite reminiscent of a big 18-wheeler turbo whistle. Your may be a bit louder than mine though - Abbott system is only 2.5". My spool up is a little better, pretty sure I can easily hit 10 psi at or before 2500 rpm, in fact I think I can hit full boost (20 psi or so) at 2800, need to do some actual testing you, I've just been having fun! I'm still messing with timing and fuel though, getting RRFPR and 24# injectors in July sometime..

My turbo whistle is about equal to the exhaust note - neither one dwarfs the other due to the differing pitch, but under throttle they're both louder and more powerful than before. My Abbott system is near as quite as stock while cruising, but gives a very nice growl under any throttle at all, very nice under full boost. Another thing I noticed which I totally love has cropped up with the new exhaust - I get a low frequency powerful BOOM when I shift gears after being under boost. The higher the boost, the louder the boom You notice anything like that? If I had to guess at a frequency, I'd say about 30-40 Hz. I love it!

Also, for whatever reason, the popping sounds my Abbott exhaust was making that were annoying me so much, are for the most part gone. Oh there is still a lot of burbling and very mild popping under decel, but nothing like before..

I have also noticed the RPM rising after hard acceleration then putting the clutch in - I figured it was just my right foot getting trigger happy with all the extra power, but maybe not?

Looking forward to the dyno day coming up in August, we'll see if I really have a '87 9000 Aero..
