I have a 9000 Griffin which after suffering a major meltdown has just had a new short motor fitted and new turbo......engine bay looks great...except for the odd missing bolt???? I also note that prior to doomsday the vehicle was revving erratically and I further note that the heater has always had a mind of it's own and never really operated as it should.

When they fitted the new engine apparently upon starting it started over revving again and they said that they fixed this by replacing the computer??

When I picked up the car the first thing I noticed was that it was revving at about 1200 rpm at idle....making the car resonate.....I also noted that when I shifted into gear (Auto) the revs would drop by some 200-300 rpm and further again when the AC compressor kicked in.....I have compared this to a "working" car and when all of these things happen the revs simply do not change staying at a smooth 850 rpm. Also when at idle I notice that when looking very closely at the rev counter the needle is never very still sort of flickering up and down by 10-20 rpm....On the night I picked it up and when stopped in traffic in Drive the car then wanted to rev up to 2500-3000 rpm forcing me to apply abnormal pressure on the brake to stop us from moving forward.....after about 30 seconds the revs then dropped back to about 450 rpm almost stalling then OK again. I am convinced that there is some connection with the heater problems I am having. The authorised dealer is doing their best and have apparently replaced just about every sensor in the car......I would appreciate if any one can report a similar tale and hopefully provide a solution so that I can put it to the Saab Mechanics.....who at this stage seem very lost....
