Replacing the 3rd brake light with an external CS light on a '92

9KT. The original one is discolored by the sun and dimishes the look of the "unique" hatch window. While it seems simple to run wires along the window edges to the top center of the window, it is not clear how to get them out to the external CS 3rd brake light. How about mounting the light on the window ? Is it possible to drill holes on the top edge of the window without damaging the glass and or inducing water leaks ?
Anyone with suggestions ?
Thanks!
