to the cylinder head. It's a NTC resistor that is linked to the EDU
control module. The control module calculates the coolant temperature from the resistance. It uses this information to
control steps 1 & 2 of the radiator fan. The EDU control module
is a computer that's attached to the back of your instrument panel.
You'll have to remove the top of your dash to remove the panel
and the EDU. The trip computer supplies voltage to the coolant
temperature gauge (pin 22) and a 1-9V signal controls the reading
on your temperature gauge. The temperature gauge, EDU, and
trip computer are all interelated to the cooling fan. I'd have a Saab
tech. take a look at it, as it can get a little complicated, circuit-wise.
