Is this a genuine SAAB dealer - if so then surely a letter to SAAB HQ (in USA?) would be the next thing to do. Certainly in UK consumer law appears to be on the side of the consumer and what was implied in their offer. You could argue that the drain and fill per se is pretty pointless as this could not invlove all the contents of the cooling system so residual debris etc in the rest of the system would negate any value in their procedure once the thermostat opened. Its like the Dentist cleaning just your front teeth, leaving the rest to continue rotting! ( I would ask you however: why, if you are a saab enthusiast as we all are here, do you let these idiots loose on your baby to do such a simple DIY job ? ) Good luck, let us know what happens.
