While I could do without TCS here in San Diego, I'm still Posted by bryan [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Correct, no bothersome TCS on my 91!, Paul Rogers, Mon, 9 Jul 2001 09:41:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
not too upset over it. According to the original saab literature, TCS was employed also as a superior alternative to a limited slip differential.
It can be problematic, and some people have what sounds like terminal TCSitis, but this doesn't mirror my experience.
When I first got the car (92 9KT) I was thinking 'OK, what can I do to disable the TCS on this thing'...but, it works fine and truth be told, has kept me out of trouble once or twice on dry pavement :)
And yes, the hardened balance shaft gears are an equal trade off IMO. TCS can be problematic; so can swinging a timing through the front half of your engine :)
92 9KT
Swedish Dynamics Red series EPROM
3" turbo back exhaust
Forge BOV
K & N/modified cold air intake
Accel 40 lb/hr injectors (not installed yet :)
88 9KS
2.0/auto
only performance enhancements are a K & N filter and fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror (worth about 5-8 hp right there! ;)
