If you are running the OEM fan without a resistor, it will run at high speed. If you are using a fast acting fuse like you are supposed to, the fan will trip the fuse unless the fan is not drawing the amps it should when it starts.
The warnings have appeared here before- don't do it or you will blow a fuse sooner or later. Mine blew the first time the fan went on.
