I have one of these, with auto transmission, and I bought it with 75K miles on the clock. I paid £6,000 sterling for it in February 2000 but now the equivalent would be considerably less for a private buy.

Experience generally very good. I had the pulley for the serpentine belt fall off (at speed) the day after I bought the car, followed on the same day by overheating problems caused by corrosion in the fan wiring. Other replacements, just the usual suspects: BPC valve, DI cassette, hooter valve (just to complete the set). I had two water hoses go, so replaced the lot as a preventative measure. Thermostat went, as they do. At one stage I seemed to be losing cooling water but that just went away. One rear door blower for the ACC is up the spout: had to replace in-dashboard ACC sensor - system now working perfectly (touch wood).

Auto transmission benefited from a couple of fluid changes - changes now (102,000 miles) smooth and well-timed. Don't know how long for! I changed the butterfly bushes and anti-roll bar bushes for Abbott polyurethane: not sure about the front anti-roll bushes, which seem to add understeer. Suspension feeling a little tired but that may be me trying to persuade myself to fork out for Konis. I had the middle box welded two or three times and ended up fitting a turbo-back 3" JT exhaust, which is a huge improvement and not at all noisy.

Generally speaking, for an eight-year old car, the beast is doing pretty well and gives me huge pleasure. It's currently using too much fuel and the plugs look as it it's running a bit weak, with a tiny bit of hesitation under full throttle up to 3½K revs, so this needs sorting out.

1993 was something of a transitional year and apparently there are subtle improvements to 94-on cars, but I'm well pleased.
