I put these on my '93 9kt 11 months and 11k miles ago, been through 1 summer and winter with them. Two observations to add to yours:
1. The "quiet" ride, especially going around corners at too fast speeds, can be a bit dangerous if you're not careful: they don't give much warning before they let go and you start understeering. I suggest (not just for this tire, but for any) finding a big empty parking lot and playing around a little to get a feel for their "personality".
2. The tires do quite well in fresh snow but don't stop very well on hard packed snow and are horrible on ice (though probably any non-studded tire is). I used them last winter in Colorado and they got me through, up, or around everything I asked of them, but didn't exactly inspire confidence.
Bottom line is I think these tires are fantastic for what they are - all-season tires, but once mine wear out I'm going to go for seperate summer/winter tires.
