and after researching the history (since the previous owner/original owner) kept EVERYTHING here is what I learned. The griffen is the "high-end" model with every possible option made. They also came with an 8 year 80,000 mile warrenty (that is why i bought it, excellent maintanence). The Saab site dedicated to the Griffin states that the griffin is the Pre-aero edition. It has the normal 200hp, but has a different suspension, tires, and supposedly has the aero turbo, I have not looked so I don't know. I think the car rides more like a Buick than my 88 9k did. But overall I love the car. It has been maintained very very well and it is in perfect condition. I have to say that having a griffin is a pain when it comes to parts. I am trying to find someone that knows their parts. I am currently looking fot the front and rear AC hoses but every dealer I call seems to be clueless. So ? Anyway that is my take on a griffin. I say buy it if you can, just because we all know that maintainence is the most important thing on a saab :)
