My mechanic has a '94 Aero 5-spd, and when he drives my car, he says it seems faster than the Aero.

I had a 300 mile round-trip in my '92 this past tuesday, and it reminded me, as it always does on longish trips, that it's simply a GREAT cruising machine for me, even though I'm 6'7". I think it 'knows' I'm getting close to trading it in, and it's doing it's best to get me to reconsider, because it's running beautifully.

I bought it with 65k, and it's just hitting 133k. It's as strong as it was the day I bought it, and the boost gauge goes to the end of the red when I mash it. My personal favorite place to do that is on a long, uphill onramp to I-95 near my office. It's at least a quarter mile long, it's dead straight, and there's a long merge lane once you hit the highway. There's nothing like flooring it at the beginning of the ramp, screaming up the long, gradual rise, and leveling out near red-line in third. The only trouble would be if a State trooper happens to be on the highway when I make my appearance. If that ever happens, I'll gladly pay the piper. The burden of many tough days has been eased by my car, and that onramp, in the past 5 years. If that's immature, well, so be it. Sometimes a big, turbo-induced smile goes a long way!!
