Having been accustomed to the quick response I get on this board for any of the problems with my two SAAB's, I now risk being flamed by asking a non-SAAB question. A question concerning the nemesis of SAAB. After posting the question to three message boards for that car since yesterday and could not get a straight answer, I have little choice.
Removed the power train of my '86 BXX 325es and am in the process of putting it back together. Got the Sachs clutch kit. Problem is I've alway thought there is a marking on the clutch that says which side faces the flywheel. So I paid no attention when I removed the clutch. There is none on the new clutch.
So this is rather a generic RWD clutch question, or a generic clutch question. Which side of the clutch faces the flywheel? Is it the flat side or the raised side? Either way fits. But only one way is correct.
