Pressure is a function of temperature. Factory 134a and retrofit do not necessarily have identical pressure requirements, particularly depending on the effectiveness of the condensor and cooling fans.
For my retrofitted 9000, I use a pressure guide of:
80F 40/175-200
85F 45/225-250
90F 45/250-270
95F 45-50/275-300
Note that these pressures are maximums with the cooling fan running. Lower low side pressure is better, but you need the high side pressure to get rid of the heat. If your compressor is cycling, you will note that it kicks in around 40 on the low side and shuts off around 25.
I have also heard for retrofit a general rule of charging to 2.5 times ambient temperature, with a maximum of 290 on the high side.
The thing to watch for is excessive pressure on the high side which (reportedly) can cause personal injury and property damage.
