Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it is an inanimate object but sometimes it will open and sometimes it won't! Lately the latter.
The door always opens fine from the inside but from outside is a different story. It acts as if it is locked, but it's not. It will lock and unlock along with the rest of the doors just fine.
I've scoured the previous posts via search but have not come up with anything relating to "not opening from the outside" except when things have been frozen.
Is this a latch mechanism/striker problem or an inside the door deal?
BTW, the outside handle works fine when the door is already open but I manualy shove the latch in as if it has been closed. Kinda makes me think it is a striker adj. but I don't want to play with that if it's something else inside or latch related. Like to hear from the pros first.
TIA for things to look for from those who have "been there".
Later,
Shahn
