surfacing job should be no more than 90.00 at a precision machine shop. have the head measured before and after to ascertain the amount removed. a Saab head should be ground - .02-.04 mm max, much less is better. Have the first light pass inspected to find the surface defects, measure the depth from the Ferranti Plane datum and then set the dial depth to remove just that amount only. It is better if you choose a shop with a Ferranti gage set up. Most engine shops that build race engines will have such a measuring plane. It may cost a 10 dollar extra to go first class.
The beginning heighth for your head is between 140.5 and 139.0 mm since you didn''t say what you have I can only guess what is required.
