The tilt works but not slide. It is not an electrical problem. The roof will slide with mechanical assistance, and when free (about 2 inches open) will work fine. On closing, the motor starts to wind down from about 4 inches closed as the roof seems to jam tighter and tighter before locking solid, one inch to go.
I have cleaned the outer edge of the sun roof and inner edge of the car roof with white spirit and have applied WD 40 then a light grease to just about everything that may be sticking - things are now a little better for it. I also tried loosening the guide plates on either side of the sun roof, to no effect.
Any ideas please? The roof is lined in a velour material and I don't want to try dissasembling the lining - nor do I relish the prospect of paying an expert to free it up.
Regards,
MAl (South East England)
