rest easy, your car will rise to about 10 oclock or just under hot red area on summer days in traffic with AC on but if not boiling or losing coolant it is fine. you need to test feel radiator after 2-3 minutes after shiut down as radiators run different temps across the core at times depending on fan etc. When you shut down and the gage is high does the fan run for 3-5 minuteds after shutting off engine? It should if it is functioning correctly. 9:00 o'clock at cruising speed is normal temp and your fan may not run at all the ram air plus ac fan will keep it "kool" enough. Then when you stop and or ram is low the rad fan will start first in low and then go to high if needed(around 10+ o'clock)
