Hi, Sully.
I switch my fronts to the back at about 1/2 tread and with the Yokohama S1-Zs I've been using this is at about 8000 miles. S1-Z treadwear is 160 (same as the P7000). My alignment is good, but since I take it hard around roundabouts I need to swap left-right to equalise wear. I do drive "enthusiastically".
I'm told the P7000 is quieter than the P6000s that were fitted new when I got my car. If that's noisy, then the Yokos are positively riotous!
I don't think you can expect great treadwear from a tyre with a 160 rating. If most of your driving is on the freeway in a straight line, that's where you are leaving most of your rubber and if it were me I would consider that I wasn't getting my money's worth. In your situation (and remembering how I enjoy driving enthusiastically) I would think of having a separate set of wheels and tyres for the weekend! I have had to commute 80 miles per day in a 9000 and I just couldn't justify doing it on sticky tyres, no matter how much I wanted them.
