the sunroof motor has gotten out of sync with the sunroof. This happened to my '87 9ks when a shadetree mechanic replaced the sagging headliner. If so, use the switch to place the sunroof all the way back in the retracted position. Remove the access panel and release the sunroof motor from its mounting (2 screws). Allow it to dangle freely. Use the switch to cycle the motor through its positions - it will automatically stop in the positions for fully retracted, fully closed, and fully tilted. Once you have cycled the motor to the fully retracted position, reinstall it. Then, it should stop when the sunroof reaches the fully closed position, the fully tilted position, and the fully retracted position. HTH.
