Having been born in NI and having spent the first twenty-three years of my life there, I can say that the majority of people (on both sides of the fence) in NI are decent, friendly people who just want to get on with their lives. However, you don't see those people on the news, do you? It is hard to stop a bunch of determined fanatics from giving us all a bad reputation. Please remember that these people speak only for themselves, not the majority.
Bill Davies recently survived an encounter with two of us, and I hope it wasn't too traumatic for him :)

As for how a Saab would behave in an explosion, remember that it is designed to be resistant to intrusion, not explosion. Also I would guess that unless it could contain the explosion completely, it wouldn't contain it at all. I should stress that I have no knowledge of bomb-making, just physics.
