I assume that you're driving along, and then the engine just stops. How does it do this - suddenly quit, like it had been turned off, or does it sputter first? Do the dash lights come on, just like when you turn the key to ON but not start? Or do you have no dashboard lights?
After the car stops, you say it won't start again until it has cooled down. Does the engine turn over when you try and start the car (starter works?) or is there nothing when you turn the key to restart? If the engine does turn over but not start, does the Tachometer needle bounce a little, or just lie dead?
It's probably an electrical problem. The question is what part. My first guess is the Ignition Amplifier module, which can be temperature sensitive. The sign of a bad Ignition Amplifier would be for the car to just stop - no sputter, no loss of power first. And when you tried to turn the key, the tachometer needle would just lie dead. It is simple to replace.
If the car sputters and then dies, and the tachometer needle bounces when you try and restart, I would assume a problem with the fuel system - the fuel pump isn't running for some reason. This could be due to a bad pump, or faulty relay, or a few other things.
But one thing at a time -
