is 4130, 4340 you will be ok but if it is 1018 or similar material you will wind up with loose turbo after several heat cycles. Avoid Stainless studs unless you can be assured that it is 17-7 stainless then use free running nuts. I have a friend in Texas making 6AL4V titanium studs for turbos on aircraft but a bit pricey for your application. I KNOW why you need studs! been there done that ---too probably worse - how many helicoils did you need after you drilled them out?? AG
