From my understanding, this results from the process that the DI goes thru to clean the plug tips at shutdown. According to my sales literature on my '96 9K, the units pulses something like 200 times within a couple of seconds to send current to the plugs to burn off any deposits that may have accumulated due to additives or the combustion process.
