Full boost stumble...... 93 Aero ..... long Posted by Darrell [Email] (#2525) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Darrell) on Sun, 12 Aug 2001 22:16:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all,
Just finished getting the TCS fixed (safety valve) and now the car has a distinct rapid stumble at full boost. At base to 85% boost it runs fine but as soon as the needle gets into the red it repeatedly coughs and bucks as if hitting the fuel cutout but not quite as severe. The first thing I did was replace the plugs, which seemed to solve the problem, in fact it ran better than ever..... for about 50-75 miles then the same high boost stumble returned. The plugs that I pulled had the whitish/brown look of lean fuel and after replacing the plugs again, the new set had the same look after very few miles. Something tells me to try the O2 sensor and possibly the fuel filter.
I recall seing this problem on the board but can't seem to find the related posts.
Any thoughts would be appreciated..... I feel SO close to finally having this thing running right again, it's really frustrating to have the summer fly by with a gimpy Aero.
Cheers
Darrell

BTW, I just found BF Goodrich Comp TA VR4s (215/50/16)for 76 bucks at Tire Rack. What a steal! So-what if they don't have directional treads and cool little arrows on the sidewall. So far they have been superb and a vast improvement over the Goodyear Eagle RS-As that I've had for @ 30K miles.
