That's a good question about the green clip thing attached to the rail that the window slides up and down on. In my 88 9k I've replaced 2 ea of those window motors and I think I'm begining to get good at it as well. Most of the time you'll find the entire motors (USED) on e-bay for like $40-50 bucks. Goldwing usually charges over a hundred bucks, but their parts do look pretty good/clean and hardly used at all. Of course when you buy one you'll just be getting the motor with cable attached to it. The green parts your talking about (some of them are black I think also) probably come with that rail that the windows attaches to. I could be wrong though. From my experience though, I haven't seen any of those parts broken. It's usually as you said "the plastic tubes break at the ends of the cables, them the cable starts going to $hit after that". That's what happened to mine anyways.
Good Luck, Phil
