Yes, Clarion will repair the radio for a flat fee. There are two approaches - you can send the radio yourself, or do it through a dealer. The last time I checked, it was $80 doing it myself. My dealer had a markup, so he charged $125. If you do it yourself, turnaround time is 15-20 working days and they give a 90-day warranty. Through the dealer, the turnaround is supposed to be faster, and the warranty is 1-year.
Call them for the latest price, then send the radio to:

Make check out to "Clarion"
They need a clear written description of the problem, of course.
I did it a few years ago with a radio that had a few problems. It came back three weeks to the day after I mailed it out, and it's been working just great.
What happens when you punch in the code? I'm trying to figure if you just have the wrong code, or there is something actually wrong with the radio. I'm surprised your mechanic could cross-check the number/code. I am under the impression that only the dealer can find out the codes.
