underneath the windshield wipers. The original heater cores had O-rings to seal the quick-connects where the hoses plug into the original heater core design. But if the core has been replaced, the hoses clamp onto stubs at the inlet/outlet of the heater core. Quasi answered the same question for me many moons ago.
